Ann Arbor, Michigan

Serving as the foundation for future high-rise development, this structure is part of a redevelopment project that included water mains, electrical capacity upgrades, a service alley, a new mid-block street, and extensive street improvements. Its foundation required one of Michigan’s largest continuous concrete pours (6,000 cubic yards over 36 hours).

Both the superstructure and 10-foot-thick mat foundation accommodate future buildings and a civic plaza, with foundation walls designed to allow future connections to adjacent properties, and horizontal expansion.
